Friends of P

We saw this outlaw tagging the wall with these characters a couple of weeks ago. I love the little guy. He's the inspiration for this get up. I took some earrings I found at a thrift store a long time ago and pinned them to my collar for some added playfulness. (They are red pants and a jacket, which almost dictated the title of this post to be "take off your pants and jacket" (get it???)... but I went with The Rentals reference instead).

Also note the pleather tights. I think these are a great addition to any lady's wardrobe. When you would normally wear plain black tights, throw these bad boys on instead and they make it look a bit more polished (in my humble opinion).

Are you tired of red lips yet? I'm sure not. Ever.

Cheap Trick

Since the weather has been so beautiful, my attire has consisted of flip-flops, chucks, cut-offs and t's. It had probably been 2 months since I wore shoes with any sort of heel of wedge. So, yesterday I felt the need to dress it up a bit. However, I still maintained the loose fitting, breezy-ness I've been rockin.
Something great about this outfit: the total cost was around $10.00. The shoes, my mom bought thinking she wouldn't fall over....which she did, (she gets too distracted to wear high shoes) so she gave them to me! The shirt and skirt were thrifted, and the headband I found on sale at LF in Santa Monica.

Don't get weirded out by the man head in the photos. That's just a mold of my husband's face....tooooootally normal to have that in your garden, riiiiight guys?

Neon! Florals! No Dooooyyyy!

Before picking my friend from Dallas up at LAX the other day, I thought to myself: "Self, what's a fun, no fuss way to say 'Welcome to California'????" Then I answered to myself: "Self! Neon! Florals! No Doooyyyy!" So I put on this vintage floral thrift store skirt....that has pockets...to put my weed in.... JK!!!!!
But seriously.......
(jk).

Vintage high waisted skirts and soft fitted tanks are a go-to for me. You can dress it down (seen here) or up with some higher shoes and a blazer or cardigan. Throw on some liquid, winged eye-liner, and some bright lips and you're practically a movie staarrrrrr!

(don't laugh at my hand on the shoulder pose. I don't know what my intention was with that. Just go with it).

Filler

Many apologies for the lack of posts recently. I have no excuses except for I've been wearing practically no clothes as the temps on the west side are finally reaching the 80's, so no good outfit posts there... and we've had several guests in town, and I went back home for a week! Here's a few photos I snapped while kicking around Venice town.

Parental Tour de Venice

My parents came for their first visit this past week. It was good to show them our new home. My mama helped Jonathan with the garden, and my dad took full advantage of our Netflix. It was surreal dropping them at the airport to fly back to Texas. It's still weird to think about how they're across the country. Here are a few snaps of the Parental Tour de Venice.
